My name is Charlotte de la Bedoyere but everyone calls me Lotti.  All the photographs are (for the time being) mine and represent only a small sample of what I have collected over the years. I have includedf a short description with most of the images which I hope you will find useful. Nearly all are taken in their natural surroundings (no titivating or building a set!), and some often in magnified detail in an attempt to show the delicate intricacies of wild plants and fauna that are often missed or not apparent to the naked eye. 

I spent many years in the past taking pictures for art and craft ‘how-to’ books – literally hundreds of them!. But my real love is nature photography, so the books also included ones on organic gardening (published by Search Press/Henry Doubleday Association). Two of these have won awards: The Garden Writer’s Guild Book Award for The Small Ecological Garden and the Sir Peter Kent Conservation Book Award for Muck and Magic.

I have also written and photographed of a number of books which have been published including Plant a Natural Woodland, Portrait of a Woodland, Starting out with Native Plants and Gardening Without Water.

I hope you will find searching for images easy. For all species, I have given both the scientific and common names. Collective images have categories such as 'Meadows', 'Ponds', 'Woodlands' etc., but you should also be able to search for them under the words. Under 'Organic Gardening', for instance, you will find everything I have put on to date. But you could also search under 'compost', 'protection', 'pests' etc. to find more specific images.
